Mobile Application
Type: UX & Product Design
Deliverables: user research, branding, wireframes, UX/UI design and a full interactive prototype.
The project began with an open-ended brief: "Design something that solves a problem." Drawing from personal experiences and extensive research, the goal was to create a solution that demystifies the home buying journey, leveraging technology to enhance user trust and clarity throughout the process.
Movease is a mobile app designed to simplify and support users through every stage of the home buying journey - from budgeting and mortgage approvals to surveys and final contracts. Inspired by personal frustration with the lack of transparency and outdated systems in the property buying process, I set out to create a tool that demystifies each step and provides a more intuitive, guided experience for first-time buyers.
The aim was to create something that felt clear, helpful and structured - while also being flexible enough to reflect the reality of how unpredictable the process can be.
To validate the concept and understand user needs, I carried out a variety of research techniques to gain a better understanding of the direction I would take.
Gathered insights into common pain points in the home buying process.
Assessed existing solutions to identify gaps and opportunities
Developed to represent diverse user experiences and needs.
Mapped to visualise the end-to-end process and identify critical touch points.
Conducted to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to the proposed solution.
The brand identity for Movease was crafted to convey ease, clarity, and trust. The name itself combines "move" and "ease," encapsulating the app's purpose. A clean, modern aesthetic with a calming colour palette was chosen to resonate with users navigating the stressful home buying process.
A clean, minimalist logo representing movement and ease.
A soothing yet vibrant colour scheme to instill confidence and calmness.
Modern, sans-serif fonts for readability and approachability.
The design process was iterative, encompassing seven major versions before finalisation.
Initial sketches and digital wireframes to outline core functionalities.
Structured the app into three main stages to reflect the non-linear nature of home buying
Implemented a central hub for users to track progress and access key information.
Transitioned from a black-and-white theme to an inverted palette for better visual engagement.
Developed detailed mockups to visualie the final product and guide development.
Conducted usability tests to refine interactions and ensure user-friendliness.
Movease offers a suite of tools to assist users throughout their home buying journey:
Movease was one of the most in-depth projects I’ve worked on, and it gave me the opportunity to explore every stage of product design - from identifying a real-world problem to researching users, planning features, designing and refining the interface, and building a cohesive brand. I learned a lot through trial and error, particularly about user flow, design systems, and balancing simplicity with functionality. I created seven versions of the app, constantly iterating to improve both the user experience and the overall concept. While there are still areas I’d like to refine, I’m proud of how far the concept developed. More than anything, this project deepened my understanding of product thinking and solidified my passion for designing digital tools that solve real problems.
